Inauguration of the First Clean Diesel Plant
Göhler GmbH & Co. KG, Anlagentechnik and HEION GmbH presented the world’s first HEION CLEAN DIESEL plant on December 9, 2022, at our site in Zeitz.
After several years of research by Heion, a production-ready plant has been developed that processes conventional standard diesel into premium diesel using a patent-protected, cost-effective, and low-energy process. The plant is built into two containers and can be easily integrated into existing systems without engine modification in all diesel units. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis, it contributes to climate protection and against air pollution.
This first plant has been sold to Rhineland-Palatinate and will supply the region with 5 million liters of more environmentally friendly diesel annually in the coming year.
We plan to build up to 100 plants at the site in the coming years, thus securing regional jobs in mechanical engineering.
The Clean Diesel plant offers a bridging solution from Germany to make the transition from fossil to renewable propulsion cleaner and more climate-friendly. Diesel vehicles will continue to play a dominant role in transport, especially in emerging countries, in the coming years, and as long as there are diesel vehicles, the motto is: If it’s diesel, then make it clean: because every ton of CO2 counts.
Clean Diesel offers compared to standard diesel:
- fewer CO2 emissions
- reduced NOX emissions
- minimized soot emissions – even without a diesel particulate filter
- complies with the EURO standard for diesel fuel
- is laboratory and road tested
- has low manufacturing costs
- offers higher engine efficiency
- and can be used immediately without vehicle modification
